Just about up

Hmmm... 2 weeks? what kinda holiday period is that? I mean it's already up. Today is the last day if you exclude the weekends of course. -sigh- that's the price you pay for having too much fun. At least I still have 3 more days to go. I'm having movies tonight with friends, FCS2 tomorrow, and a trip to KL with Kai Xiang and Edwin on Sunday. I think that's not a bad way to end your holidays.
Ahh.. let's review whats been happening. Have been watching movies, loads of them. Did I mention National Treasure both 1 and 2 are great. Gosh I love Diane Kruger. Another movie is Van Wilder, its quite old but seriously very nice. Tara Reid, you really gotta check her out in that movie. xPxP
moving along.. There's this song "Salvation is here" by Hillsong United. I knew the song, I just didn't know how could it was. I'm kinda addicted to it now and I'm learning the base part of this song. The solo base is really cool, go check it out on youtube.
You guys know about the song by plain white T's 1,2,3,4 ? What do you think if a guy plays that song for a girl? A little but too cliche? Then again, the word cliche was made for a reason. So yeah, I've learned the song chords and I thought maybe... just maybe. haha
So, into the sports world for abit. In case you don't already know, Cristiano Ronaldo is off to Madrid. It's about time MU cash in on him. I don't really like his attitude. And congrats to Fedex for finally getting his French title. Nadal for Wimbledon !!
Back closer to home. I'm having or rather my school CF is having the Friends Musical Play next Saturday and I'm sure it's bound to be a blast. So come and watch us at New Life Church and I bet you're in for a treat.
Ahh, I have to mention.. that I've seriously not studied at all during this 2 week period. I feel so bad and guilty seeing as SPM is in like what 5 months??? Gosh, I can still remember myself saying " SPM is still in 2 years time, relax don't worry" right after receiving my PMR results. How fast time has passed. -sigh-
Had add maths and history work to do during the holidays along with the other work given which I did not touch at all.

All Over

3 things. Teacher's Day performance is over!! Mid-term exams are over !!!! Manchester United's reign as European champions are over!!!!!
Okay we'll take it one step at a time. First up is the performance. Oh well, based on the feedback I got, I think everything went well. The only downside to it was where my partner Kai Xiang's guitar wasn't loud enough. Come to think of it, no one actually heard his guitar. -sigh- If only this mishap didn't happen it really would have been a great performance. Anyway, it's a learning lesson we will move forward with. Oh and it was a nice feeling to play the song and have the whole crowd (including the teachers!!) sing it with you. Moreover, the two flowers really sparked things up !
haha. Yeah overall I guess it was great, seeing as it was my first performance in front of a really big and tough crowd.
We're moving on... finally mid-terms are over !! yeah! I think I did relatively okay this term. I didn't really study much except probably for add math. I did receive two papers back. I got an A1 for math and a very sad B3 for Bio. Gosh, I really gotta buck up on Bio to have any chance of getting into med school... really ! Anyway, yeah mid-terms are done with and here come the holidays !
Last but not least, how could Manchester United lose to Barcelona 2-0 ?!?!
I'm not saying Barcelona don't deserve it 'cause they really battered ManU, totally and utterly outplaying them, but 2-0?? -sigh- I as a Manchester United fan am really disappointed with the team performance and I bow before the best team in the world, Barcelona CF.
Let me evaluate MU's performance by player based on my view..
-Van Der Sar
Did well, made a few good saves to keep Manchester United in the game. Probably Man U's best player on the night.
-John O'Shea
did his job but didn't really offer much of an attacking option for the team.
-Rio Ferdinand
Way below what he is capable of. Not controlling enough in the box and no leadership.
-Nemanja Vidic
Utterly poor game. This one goes together with the Liverpool game where I have never seen him play so badly. He was one of the reason's that Eto' managed to score the first goal. Sloppy defending at crucial moments.
-Patrice Evra
Had his game plan of stopping Messi totally wrecked after the Argentine maestro was deployed in the middle of the midfield. Hardly sparked anything down the left flank.
-Park JiSung
Didn't bring anything to the game at all apart from the 2nd minute when he almost scored. Literally invisible at times and a real disappointment.
-Anderson
I felt he was really of no use in the game. He was actually deployed in midfield to run his socks off chasing the likes of Andres Iniesta and Xavi but seriously? I don't understand how he could have just let Iniesta run pass him as though he wasn't even there and that led to the first and crucial goal.
-Ryan Giggs
Probably one of MU's better players. Then again, no vision with the ball and no ideas sparking when those were the key elements needed. My idol failed me miserably.
-Wayne Rooney
I think he was one of MU's worse off players, giving away the ball too cheaply on numerous occasion and not imposing himself in the game. Indecisive at times and not offering much of an attacking option although he did get a few chances himself.
-Michael Carrick
Not enough pinpoint passing that he usually does. Didn't take control of the game and lost the midfield battle to Iniesta and Xavi completely. Never did look like running the midfield at all that day.
-Cristiano Ronaldo
Selfish at times but looking at the way the other MU players were doing, I don't really blame him for using the ball himself. Wasn't his day as Messi won the battle of the 'best player in the world'.

I won't give you the details for the subs ( Berbatov, Scholes and Tevez ) as you can see 2-0 doesn't say much about them. I guess it was the wrong tactics by Fergie this time, such a waste. Don't worry we'll get another stint at it next year ! Sorry if I've been a little critical up there..
Yeah, enough of football for me for the season, only left with the FA Cup Final tomorrow. Oh and just so you didn't know, the French Open is on now and I'm supporting Rafael Nadal all the way for a 5th consecutive Roland Garros title.
Mmmm.... Basketball East and West conference are also on with the scores tied at 2-2 and 2-1 respectively ( last time I checked ). Last but not least, Jenson Button won the latest track event at the french grid. Looks like Mclaren and Ferrari are going down the drain this year.
That's about the latest news in sports I know. Heading for a new day tomorrow, so I guess I'll be seeing ya'll again soon.
till the next one peeps,

P.S. I'm starting that D.O.T.A. game now. I know how much I criticised it before but yeah I'm trying it now. I'm not a hypocrite! So yeah that's all. See ya..

What is to come ahead?

Heya fellas...
First of all, "I told you so!" Manchester United were gonna make it into the final. I never really had a doubt about it and quite frankly I don't think any of the players did. Like Patrice Evra said and I quote, " It was like 11 men against 11 babies". He couldn't have said it any better, sorry to all you Arsenal fans. I wasn't correct on the other match, that I really pity 'em Chelsea fans. Then again, a Barcelona v ManchesterUnited match is a dream Champions League final come true. Ronaldo versus Messi, haha battle of the football gods. Anyway, we'll see how that pends out in a couple of weeks time.
So, with the Champions League final to look forward to, what else in life seems interesting nowadays? Seriously, nothing much.. my social life is going into bits. More so the fact that I have that three week long exams to enjoy starting Tuesday ( what actually am I doing blogging then?!?! ). There's the CF drama play on the 30th, FCS2 on the 31st, Teacher's Day performance ( dunno when ) and futsal match-ups within the month. So yeah, May has quite a few promising events in store. But really, all my attention is on the mid-term exams ( so I say ) and I really hope I get above average results. Any C's would really kill me. At least a B4 yeah? ( that's bad enough already )
Oh and my school organized a trip to Taylor's the other day. It was a cool and learning experience at the same time kinda fun too. In case you didn't already know, I'm planning to indulge myself into the medicine field ( that's after watching 5 seasons of Grey's Anatomy ), but there's also that hint of interest in engineering. Taylor's provide more of an engineering kinda course than meds ( i'm not that sure they even provide for meds ) so I don't see myself actually studying there but it was nice to see how college lifestyle looks and feels like. I also met quite a number of my ex-seniors.
My mom has been bugging me about this National University of Singapore thing which quite frankly seems good according to her. It's positioned in the top 30 or something like that in the list of overall rankings of unis across the globe, so I guess it must be pretty good. It's hard to get in though, probably need to score like straight A1s to have a chance to get in. -sigh- ( straight A1s.... what a dream that would be )
It seems many of my friends like engineering, only a handful opting for medicine and law. I guess we'll wait and see how that all works out in a year's time. I probably should put it to rest for now. Too much planning makes me nervous and tired so yeah I think that'll be a good idea.
It's time for the Manchester derby now... I promise I'll study right after the match... :)
Till the next one people, it's me saying goodbye !

All English Finals?

Hey people. It's April 28th. It's also the eve of the first semi-final clash of the 2008/2009 Champions League between Barcelona CF and Chelsea FC at the Nou Camp. I bet you football fanatics can't wait to get it started. I'm not a fan of neither both of the teams but I myself can't wait for it. Manchester United are playing Arsenal the following day at Old Trafford, now that I really can't wait to watch. So you guys watching the match at 2.30am? Better not miss it!
Honestly speaking, I have a feeling Chelsea are gonna make it through along with Manchester United. We'll have an all English finals, not to mention a repeat of last year's final. So I guess we'll just wait for it to pend out and see what happens.
Anyway, let's talk about something alot closer to home. Lately, there's been this fuss and commotion about prom 2009 for SMKKK and seriously, it got me working. So, I don't get why girls have the opportunity to say " see first " when a guy asks her. Lol, I mean boys aren't some play toys you know. You don't wait till all the toys ask you to prom and then you pick the one with the highest quality. Couldn't they just say a straightforward "No" or "Yes". -sigh- then again, girls are girls. So I guess it's their right. Oh just so you know, prom is not for another 6 months. That's why I don't get the sudden interest in it. Oh well, just in case... "Boys, go book 'em girls before it's too late!"
Yeah, so I think I gotta go study. Exams are in 2 weeks so I have to work hard for this one. Till next one peoples, darrenkhoo signing off...

P.S.
Glory, Glory, Man United
Glory, Glory, Man United
Glory, Glory, Man United
And the Reds go marching On, ON, ON!!!

Manchester United all the way!

Loved ones...

Yeah people,
I hope you didn't miss me too much. Based on the ridiculous poll I put up, boys should get chocolates, sweets, write love songs, love notes, love poems and profess his love for the girl he likes on Valentines. That's kinda a lot to do, considering boys only have so much time. xPxP
So anyway, okay enough about all the hype on this boyfriend-girlfriend relationship thing. In case you didn't know, yesterday was Earth hour. For all you blur peeps, yes it was the time where most people with a heart ( no offense ) decided to turn off their lights. Even Kuala Lumpur played their part by turning most of the lights. Take a look at KLCC man ! Seriously, this should be applauded. So yeah, it was a great time. I spent the time walking around houses with friends around the neighborhood asking them to turn off their lights. One of my friend, Matin went on ringing doorbells and didn't notice one of 'em gates were opened, and got chased by a dog. It was fun and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
SO ANYWAY, back to the main topic of today. In accordance to Earth hour, I've come to learn something and I thought I just wanna share with you people, yeah YOU! I met this really old dude.. ( old means loads of wisdom.. hahaha ) and he spoke to me about stuff. He says this which I believe is quite true, in my case at least.

He said and I quote, " Boy, you're young. You have a long life ahead of you. You spend time with your friends, you have fun. You enjoy the moments and live it to the fullest. Sometimes, you get jealous when you're not invited to parties or events when your other friends are 'cause you want to be everywhere, knowing everything and not wanting to be left out. It's normal. But most friends come and go, there are those who you spend a lifetime with and it's good that you have this sorta friends. But remember, it's your family that matters most. When you lose your dad, he won't be there anymore. The same goes for your mother. Siblings especially, are the ones that keep you company throughout your life. You find safety in them, comfort, company and everything else. So cherish your family, for this is a one time life and you get to live it only once."

There's still loads more that he said that really spoke to me personally, unfortunately I can't remember. So yeah, family... do you spend time with your family a lot? Do you talk to them about anything and everything? Or are friends and your life much more important than them? 'Cause if that's the case, then I hope you know what you're doing.
Gosh, I feel like some old dude man! This is too much to take in. Okay let's do a brief news coverage of what's been happening lately.

Manchester United unfortunately lost yet again to Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage and are now only a single point ahead of Liverpool. Laugh now Liverpool fans, MU are still gonna win the EPL. World Cup Qualifiers are also on today. Oh and remember how I was asking about the controversy surrounding Britney Spears' song "If you seek Amy"? I found out about it a few weeks ago. It meant F*** Me. If you listen really closely, then I think you might be able to catch it.
-sigh- this is tiring, I have exams in a week and I doing this, gawd! Oh yeah speaking of exams, my 3-4 days of studying BK paid off 'cause I got 84% for my BK exam. haha!! My first A for the subject. Just in case you didn't know, SPM trials are in 6 months and SPM in 8 months. OMG !!! Do I have enough time to catch up on everything? I certainly hope so. If you know some special method of how I can buck up on form 4 and 5 syllabus in that little amount of time, do tell! I'm desperate here!
So, that's your regular dosage of darren khoo's life. I hope you enjoyed it, if not at least try to. till the next one peeps..

Persevering !

Yes, Man U fans. The scoreline is 4-1. At Old Trafford ! It's unbelievable but it happened. I'm still in shock, then again it's only one game. I'm confident enough to say MU will still retain the championship for the third time running. Nine games to go, Man U aren't gonna slip anymore. All the hype are on them slipping, what about Liverpool? They can slip as well. I'm sure Manchester are going to take their game in hand ( against Portsmouth ) and go 7 pts clear of Liverpool again. We'll just wait and see the remainder of the season yeah? I won't be surprised to see these photos again on my TV screen anytime soon.

Holidaying but counting down

So again come the holidays. It's mid-March and what am I doing??? Blogging ! Gawd, I've really gotta do something about my studies thick and fast. I can't really enjoy the holidays anymore. I'm entering into the countdown mood already. Is that even healthy? You form 5's better study man. As for all you form 4's, it actually is wise that you start studying in form 4. Once you're as old as I am, you really regret it. Seriously, what the oldies say is true, don't waste anymore time.
-sigh-we put that to bed first and enjoy the rest of life la yeah? so what you up to? anything big planned for holidays? or you just one of them losers who rot at home, watch tv, eat and sleep? if you are, then join the club, man...
ughhh.. always never anything big planned for this type of holidays. Someone please invite me to somewhere.. anywhere, I'm dying to go out and hang out. Ok, enough about my sad life.. moving on to world news.

Manchester United beat Inter 2-0 aggregate with Nemanja Vidic and Cristiano Ronaldo supplying the goals on the return leg at Old trafford a few days ago. All 4 English teams progressed into the quarterfinals with Liverpool beating Real Madrid 5-0, Arsenal winning Roma on penalties, and Chelsea 3-2 over Juventus. Barcelona, Porto, Villareal and Bayern Munich join them for the mouth-watering quarterfinal draw in a few days. Oh and in case you didn't already know, MU are playing Liverpool tomorrow at Old Trafford. If MU wins, they virtually seal the title, if they don't then perhaps Liverpool still have a glimmer of hope of trying to wrestle the title from MU.
Oh and whats up about the song from Britney Spears entitled "when you see Amy" or something like that.. apparently it's causing lots of controversy in America. If you do know whats the fuss about, please do tell. Oh and I'm eager to watch Slumdog Millionaire and Inkheart. They look like cool movies, do invite if you're going to watch :)
I just finished the first three seasons of Grey's Anatomy !!! it ended with Lexie Grey and the new interns coming to Seattle Grace Hospital. I can't wait to get my hands on Season 4.
So I think this is about time I stop. I hope you enjoyed your daily dose of darren khoo's life.
till the next post peoplez!
