Hi you. Yeah, you the one who's about to spend another 5 minutes or so of his/her life reading this post. I hope you don't waste those 5 minutes. xP
I was thought in English class about skimming and scanning. There was this short explanation on how the 'title' gives the introductory to text you're about to read. Amazingly, a title is said to be the shortest summary of the text.. I never really saw it that way. Anyways, as you can see from the title above.. you're in for another treat of thoughts from dkbw for the day.
Okay, I used to think that playing scrabble is great and all. I mean, it is. More so the fact that I'm quite good at it. But every time people start talking 'bout their superb achievements, I tend to shy away from expressing my talent in the game.. thinking probably it's a nerd game and people might get that perception of me. Hence, I don't really mention it in front of strangers.
However, I must say that as time passes and I become more matured in these sort o' things I realised that there's nothing really to be embarrassed about. 'Cause it doesn't matter that what they think. Seriously... if i'm proud of it and wanna show the whole world then I should, I shouldn't let what a few small people hinder me from what I like doing and am proud of.
So, nowadays I do tell people about it (when asked of course). But that's not really the point. It's the general overview that's really important. This exemplifies the need to just be yourself and not let anyone else decide who you truly are. It could be anything...
--talking 1000 words per minute
--playing computer games and being somewhat of a geek
--doing stupid stuff from time to time
--being very lame in public
there's really no end to it. We all have our many flaws but it's those flaws that make who we are today. We should be proud of it 'cause it differentiates us from the crowd. Your friends and family wouldn't love you if you weren't the way you are. So seriously, ignore those idiots who think otherwise and condemn you for who you are. they're not the kind of people you would wanna hang out with.
So from now on, let's all be who we really are and keep this world going. Oh and off the record, I think the theme song for my life right now is " if you come back in my life" by Blue. haha, maybe i'll update you on why so the next time. I'll see y'all then.
P.S. Freshie Night is on tommorrow at 7.30pm where all the freshmen go out and celebrate our first years in the college. I hope for it to be a blast.
Ciaoz...

Changes / A whole new World
Hey peoplez... yeah it's me again. I don't know why but I just had the feeling of wanting to share on this today. Anyways, so let me begin the epic tale....
You know how everyone experiences change every once a while? A big one or small one, doesn't matter. But surely or not it will come and hit you on the backside. Hopefully you're able to stand up again before the next hit comes and knocks you out.
Well, as I transit from secondary school life to college life I guess it's quite a big change ( well at least for me personally ). But after awhile, you realize that it's not that big a change after all. I mean, everyone goes through it so what does your change make it any more special than the rest? You're just a small fish in a very large pond who is going through what we all know as "life".
But then I think to myself again, yeah sure I'm no one to this world. But I am someone to me and to my loved ones. so I should take concern for myself and don't look down upon myself. It kills self-esteem actually.
But this transition into college life is just an overview of the small lil' things that have happened to me in 2010. I'm sure all of you have your own lil' changes in 2010. It could be...
-having late night chats till 4am for the first time
-getting into a relationship
-helping your friend get into a relationship
-having your best buddies all in a relationship and all working it out together
-shifting to a new place
-having to let go of someone you care for because they're shifting somewhere
-teaching your siblings in their studies
-having to sacrifice things for something better
-having to be a bit more mature when it comes to making choices and vital decisions in life
-learning how to be a lil' bit more obedient even when it comes to the lil' thing 'cos you might just get your phone confiscated xP
-taking up more responsibilities
-learning how to adapt to whats happening around you
yeah, there's so many to list down. If I were to list them all down, I don't think it'll ever end. So yeah, changes here and there. how do you cope with them? Well, one of the few ways is to get help from friends or family. I mean... they're the ones who will always be there for you no matter what. They'll support whatever you do and that's what matters and all you need.. a lil' love and compassion from someone toward you.
So yeah, these challenges are merely stepping stones of the greater things to come in life. You have to realize that everyday as you wake up, it is and will always be a whole new world. hehe.. I've been listening to the song by Kris Allen " live like your Dying". It's quite good actually, both music wise and lyric wise. Appreciate what you have now but never get too stuck with the present. There is still the future to look forward to. Just so you know, there are 86400 seconds in a day. What are you doing with your 86400 seconds?
Long story cut short. Changes will always be there, it's how we look at it ( isit for the better or worse ). I can simplify it in this way....
Adapt to your changes and work it out, so that you can enjoy the present... create memories for the past and pave a way for an exciting future. x)
anyways, that's as much wisdom as you can get from me today ( if there was any... haha )
till the next one peoplz...

Ending the 2nd week of college
hi you. Yeah i've abandoned my blog for abit. sorry, still getting used to the whole college thing. Well, I'm glad to say I'm enjoying it so far. Loads of new things to learn though I must say my math subject is really undermining my math skills (with no intention of blowing my horn). I realised I actually studied add math for two years for nothing really. -sigh-
Other than that, I guess the other subjects are still okay. Economics is still a new adventure, english is interesting whilst the rest haven't got going yet. all in all I think it's quite fun. Made many new friends, so I guess that's a positive sign. :)
Oh and I learned so many new things in college. Like for example, there's so much more to see in the library other than books. hahaha ( i'm not talking bout the other facilities xPxP )
Tomorrow's gonna be the last day of the 2nd week of college. Looking back, I think i've done well enough to survive. No trouble in school, no "over embarrassing" moments, doing well in class and making friends. I' d give myself an 80% on performance over the past couple of weeks. I hope I can keep it up throughout the year.
Oh and I'd like to share something with you. Today we had a session of presenting your life achievements in english class. there's this one guy in my class name Alfred whom I think is quite cool and hilarious. Well, one of his achievements was how he parked his car in a hotel. He went on to do his stuff and about 8-10 hours later, he came out. His ticket was supposedly to cost him about rm20+ but he took a new ticket at the entrance and paid rm 1 only ( if im not mistaken ). He kept the old ticket for memories.. hahaha. a lil' cheating but very smart. xP
anyways, i'll wrap that up for now. I'll see you guys soon. take care

it's a new year
it's that time again where we all celebrate a festive new year in anticipation of all the excitement there is to come within the year. I hope y'all had a great countdown last night. I can already see the headlines in my life. A new College, SPM results to come, new friends, WORLD CUP 2010, yet another birthday and so much more. I should be having butterflies in my stomach, no? hahaha, yeah probably so. But it kinda keeps me motivated too, so all in all its good. This is probably the first time in my life I'm doing this but I've made a To-do list for the year 2010. There's 15 things in all I hope to accomplish this year and hopefully I can look back at it come 31st December 2010 and be proud that i've completed that list. Maybe you should do one too. There's no harm and it might drive you to go to greater heights in life. It's a suggestion. :):)
And in case you didn't know, MU swept aside Wigan 5-0 the previous day. It is only a matter of time before MU bag their fourth consecutive BPL title and hopefully another Champions League trophy.
hmm... since I'm so free now I'ma comment on the whole Tiger Woods scandal. It's like what 14 women already? that guy really did impress me. I thought of him as an icon though I didn't really watch golf. The fact that he cheat on his wife anf family and in the manner that he did it was simply unexcusable. One slip-up is bad already but 14 slip-ups? haha, that's just plain gigolo turn playboy. Too much Too much. He's removed himself from my "people I admire" list and I think I speak for loads of Tiger fans too. Such a shame yet I hope he'll be ok and his situation will resolve soon enough. All the best to him.
Speaking of sports, I watched the ESPYS2009 for the first time ( right don't ask me what ESPY stands for because I don't know either ) and it was quite cool actually. It's kinda a way to reminiscist on all the sporting events that has happened throughout the year and to award the accolades where it is deserved. As expected, Michael Phelps won the sort of "best Sportsman" award. I liked the " best match " though. It was a competition between the "nadal vs Federer" Wimbledon final, the "superbowl finals showdown" and a basketball match. All were great games, the basketball match had about 6 overtimes if I'm not mistaken. I mean, have you ever seen six overtimes in a basketball match? That's really something. And the 5+hours epic final showdown between Nadal and Federer. Phew, that's all something you really shouldn't miss and lastly the Superbowl final that went all the way to practically the last second when the team won. The whole nation and parts of the world were watching that one. It was awesome and was duly awarded the best match of the year.
So yeah... I've been prety much drowning myself in TV and computer everynow and then. I think I have to go off now, it's 2 o'clock in the morning. I'm learning the "According to you" solo by Orianthi. I hope I can play it by the end of next week. hehe
O'well, I guess I'll see y'all next time. Have a great year and my lessings to you all.
-till next time
